The Early Childhood program of Lakeside Learning Center serves children from ages six weeks through six years of age.
Lakeside Learning Center provides early intervention in an inclusionary early learning setting alongside children who are typically developing, who serve as positive peer models and play partners. Children are divided into classrooms by age, not by ability. Other specialized services are provided including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language therapy, and nursing services.
Lakeside Learning Center provides high quality, developmentally appropriate instruction in the classroom.
All classroom supervisors, instructors and assistants undergo extensive initial training and continuing education every year, including first aid and CPR training.
To qualify for our EIDT Day Habilitation program, a child must have a documented developmental disability or delay, as shown on the results of an initial or annual comprehensive developmental evaluation that shows:
For ages 0-36 months, a score of 25% or greater delay in at least two areas: motor, social, cognitive, self-help/adaptive, or communication.
For ages 3-6 years, a score of at least two standard deviations below the mean in at least two areas: motor, social, cognitive, self-help/adaptive, or communication on the Battelle Developmental Inventory test (BDI) and 25% or greater delay on the criterion referenced test.
The child must also have a documented need for at least one of the following, as shown on a full evaluation for that service:
